Abilities:

• High-Endurance Stamina - Nacht is capable of casting spell after spell even while mortally injured, as well as fighting back/holding off an incredibly power enemy such as Luciferos with Yami's help.
• High-Proficiency in Espionage - Nacht worked undercover for years on end in enemy territory in order to obtain information, and was never caught. He has excellent stealth and covert operation skills.
• Immense Magic Capacity & Power - Nacht has four devils under his command that he can have possess him for the sake of combat, sometimes even by two simultaneously--His body is very much able to withstand this strain without issue for a fairly long period of time.
• Knowledge of Devils & Devil Summoning/Binding - By the information provided by the now fallen Faust family that he once belonged to, he is very well-versed in matters regarding the arcane.
• Shadow Magic - Nacht's inherent magic. He is able to manipulate shadows at will, as well as travel through them.

Personality:

Despite Nacht's sweet smile at a first glance, know that this man can and will be incredibly unpleasant if he does not like you or what you stand for. He is an incredibly blunt individual with strong views that he has absolutely no intention of compromising on. He loathes unjust evil, and will not stand for it, claiming that even if god or hell forgives the individual: He will not. In contrast, though he's stern and strict, he also has admitted he likes honest and good-natured people, and though those who are truly good at heart are not always rewarded: He would like for them to be.

Though he shows a strong hatred for Yami and the other Black Bulls sans Asta, it is later revealed and shown that much of this hatred is actually being projected onto them and in fact is truly aimed at himself due to the massive amount of guilt and regret he feels for the sins he committed in the past. It is also clear from his willingness to sacrifice himself that Nacht is not doing it out of some noble belief: He simply feels it is the least he can do to atone. As shown in his thoughts, he actually does not hate Yami, and instead feels that he should not be around the other as he has no right to in having taken Morgen away from him.

Background:

In his younger days, Nacht had a twin brother named Morgen who was the very opposite of him: Bright, kind, and well-liked by everyone. In stark contrast, Nacht chose to fool around rather than to strive to be a magic knight. In his antics, he and Yami, Morgen's fellow Grey Deer knight, became best friends along the way. He would often do reckless things within the confines of the law, just threatening to cross it, and when the matter of dealing in devils was revealed to be a secret that his family carried out: Nacht felt he'd found his true calling, and stumbled further and further into the forbidden arts until it was far too late to pull back--And the price that was paid was Morgen's life, for he'd sacrificed it in an effort to save Nacht.

While grieving his brother's death and praying to god, begging for the heavens to save him--He stopped himself, chastising himself for his convenient hypocrisy, and greatly emphasized to himself that this was entirely his own fault for being so selfish and narrow-minded. After having visited the newly ordained Black Bulls base once after the passing of Morgen and Yami's ascension to rank of Captain, he along the way became contracted to four Devils, and volunteered for a deep cover mission that spanned for years on end in the Kingdom of Spade.
